If you`re looking for a luxury romantic getaway in Mexico, you should consider staying at the Viceroy Riviera Maya. Unfortunately I was not there with my partner, but I could definitely see this destination being one to visit as a couple. For example, the honeymoon treatment in your villa is so romantic. Rose petals on the bed that say “Te Amo” and candlelight.
A villa that offers a private terrace with hammock, lounge chair and pool. This way you can relax just with the two of you, reading a book, taking a nap in your hammock or have a dip in your own pool.
The bathtub is big enough for two! If you prefer showering, don`t worry, you have an indoor shower and an outdoor one. A his and her sink and handmade local soap. (I loved the lemon grass one)
You can either enjoy your breakfast at your villa or have it at the Coral Grill & Bar while gazing in each others eyes or at the sea.
Want to enjoy more than just your villa then you can have an afternoon nap on one of the outside beds or jump into the hotel pool.
Why not join a yoga session on the pier, take part in a cooking class or have a spa experience with the two of you. Go for a romantic beach walk, relax on one of the beach chairs or see the sunrise together…
Don`t be surprised when walking around at the hotel to see spider monkeys and other animals, as you`re located in the jungle at the beach. I have to say the staff was lovely and if you had a problem, they were there to make sure it was fixed within moments. Let`s say that they have an eye for details and want to make sure you have a great experience!

British Airways flies three times a week from London Gatwick to Cancun, return fares start from GBP 644 (including taxes). Rates at the Viceroy Riviera Maya start at GBP373 (USD605) per night for a luxury villa, excluding tax and service. I stayed at a Jungle Villa which is USD 985 per night excluding 14% tax and 15% service.
