Whenever I want to dream away I go through my Pinterest boards. Seeing the photos people share makes me want to jump on a plane and visit all of them. Unfortunately some of them are out of my budget, but heh a girl can dream right?
Here`s a selection of hammocks with a view I wouldn`t mind spending some time at. Btw I was lucky enough to actually visit one of them.
1. Tortola, British Virgin Islands
How about a villa at Frenchman`s Cay with a view like this? This island is connected to the main island of Tortola by a very short bridge to Tortola’s West end. Frenchman`s Lookout House is a luxurious house with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and wraparound decks with yes, hammocks with amazing views. You can rent this villa starting from $1430/night (more details).
2. Jost Van Dyke, BVI
Jost Van Dyke is the smallest of the four main islands of the British Virgin Islands. The island is located about 8 km to the northwest of Tortola and 8 km to the north of Saint John. With Winter temperatures between 75 – 85 degrees and Summer temperatures in the 80-90 degree range, this is a good place to chill out and relax in a hammock.
3. Soneva Fushi, Maldives
Soneva Fushi was the first ‘castaway’ resort in the Maldives, pioneering a trend for back-to-nature luxury holidays. Sonevas philosophy is SLOW LIFE meaning Sustainable, Local, Organic, Wellness, Learning, Inspiring, Fun, Experiences. Want to stay at this deluxe 5 star resort? You can check availability here.
4. Barbuda
Yes, I can see myself in this hammock at The Beach House in Barbuda. Barbuda is an island in the Eastern Caribbean, and forms part of the state of Antigua and Barbuda. It`s still pretty undeveloped, making it unspoiled and a unique place to visit. At The Beach House they have Service Ambassadors (like Butlers) to take care of you!
5. St Vincent and the Grenadines
This is the view from my beach villa when I was staying at Young Island Resort in St Vincent. Young Island is the most northerly of the Grenadines chain of islands and a privately owned tropical island making it a great place to get away from it all.
