Summer is coming… well, not everywhere yet, but it can`t hurt to be ready once it finally arrives. Soon there will be beach parties & BBQ`s and summer dresses & flip flops will come out. So here are a few things you can do to get your skin ready for those long summer days, plus I added some homemade spa tips!
Exfoliate your skin as it`s been hidden away during the Winter. I found this recipe online, so you don`t even have to go to the shop to buy one. Just check your pantry and mix the following ingredients together for your own homemade sugar scrub:
- 10 tablespoons of fine sea salt
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil (or almond oil)
- 1 lemon
- a few drops of lavender essence
Mix the salt and oil well, then add the lemon juice and essence of lavender. Et voila, your own sugar scrub!
With a pedicure you not only pamper your feet after they`ve been locked up in closed shoes, but if you add a bit of color on your nails, it brings a nice extra to your summer outfit.
I found this step-by-step guide for a DIY pedicure at home, together with some foot scrub recipes, so make sure to check it out.
Smooth Summer Legs
To get rid of unwanted hair, I still prefer waxing and suggest by someone else. I`ve tried the other options of shaving and using an epilator. The epilator is a good way, but from experience waxing keeps the hairs away for longer. I`ve also done waxing at home with wax strips, but if I`m going on a beach vacation, getting it done by a professional just gives me a better feeling that it`s done right. Even though it`s not the most pleasant experience, if you combine it with getting a pedicure or a facial, you have a mini pampering session even before you start your vacation.
Moisturize and glow
Who doesn`t want to glow after the gloominess of winter? Your skin will be thankful for the extra attention it`s getting and the after effect will be you shining to welcome the Summer!
After your skin is beach ready, get into shape!
