Rise and shine, its a beach day

Beach Road Trip through Florida

Beach Road Trip: Fort Myers Beach Pier

As I announced last week, I`ll be going on a beach road trip through Florida to discover the most beautiful beaches, quirkiest shops and try the most delicious food by exploring several beach destinations along the Florida coast.

I`ll be leaving this weekend to start my road trip in Pensacola to drive for two weeks along the coast and ending in Miami. This is what my route looks like:

PensacolaPanama City BeachApalachicolaCedar KeySt AugustineSt. Petersburg and ClearwaterBradentonSarasotaFort Myers & Sanibel - Miami

In Panama City Beach I`ll be going up in a helicopter to have a view from above and I love helicopter rides! I`ve been over the Grand Canyon and Uluru in Australia, it`s such an amazing experience.

In Apalachicola I`ll be visiting a lighthouse and we`ll see if I can squeeze in a boat trip too.

Beach Road Trip: Lighthouse visit

I`ll be staying in different kinds of accommodations like hotels, Inns and beach cottages. Of course I`ll be on the lookout for great places to eat. I`ve already heard about the Bubble Room, famous for its award winning cake. But there`s so much to do and so little time, so if you`ve got tips and/or recommendations in one of the above mentioned destinations, I would love to hear about them. It can either be food recommendations, your favorite beach or beach activity.

Update: I`ve completed this trip and you can find more information on each destination by clicking on the links above.
