Rise and shine, its a beach day

THE 5: Caribbean Islands

THE 5 Caribbean Islands

How amazing would it be if you could get aboard your own yacht and sail along your favorite Caribbean islands? Awesome right! Well, unfortunately I don`t have my own yacht, but I can take you on a tour around my favorite Caribbean islands here on BeachThursday.

Choosing only five islands is very hard, as it all depends on what you`re looking for. Do you want secluded beaches, lots of water activities or something else? My list is a combo of islands that I have fond memories of.

1. St Lucia

I loved everything about St Lucia, but the lush greenery of the island stood out. The natural beauty of this island is definitely a reason why I would recommend St Lucia.

2. Dominican Republic

Here it was not only the island that captured my heart, but the people living here. The locals are so friendly and I love the vibe that oozes around the island. Maybe it`s their music and their dance moves, but this is an island I love coming back to.

3. St Vincent and the Grenadines

More specifically Bequia is my favorite island of this island group. Bequia is a charming island with that real Caribbean feeling of relaxation, lovely people and beautiful beaches. Add in crystal clear water and you have your perfect Caribbean dream.

4. Barbados

All Caribbean islands have beautiful beaches, but the thing I loved about Barbados was the stunning buildings. From renovated forts to old plantation houses that reflect charm and history.

5. Jamaica

Who doesn`t love reggae and Bob Marley? The music and the natural beauty of this island make Jamaica a paradise for nature and beach lovers. Botanical gardens and beautiful waterfalls are just a fraction of what you`ll see.

THE 5 Jamaica Caribbean

These are a few of the lovely islands in the Caribbean. I still have Turks and Caicos, St Kitts and Aruba on my wish list. Of course sailing along the islands might be a dream, but visiting the Caribbean shouldn`t be. You can always fly into your favorite Caribbean island and spend a relaxing holiday in the sun!

I’d second St Lucia – visited last month and absolutely loved it. And Grand Turk was gorgeous too, tiny, very chilled out and some amazing beaches. But I’d love to head to St Vincent & the Grenadines too… and maybe Grenada. Actually it’s a long list.

St Vincent and the Grenadines are definitely worth a visit, especially because the islands are so close together and so diverse. I hear you on the long list though, but we can dream right 😉

The Caribbean is very far from where I live (Dubai) but it’s still in my travel bucket list! Someday, soon!!
